Youth comes to the rescue

Christ Church has a most beautiful organ which, until earlier this year, was played faithfully by Jack Leeming for many, many years. Recruiting a replacement for any retiring organist is proving a difficulty for many churches, however from our younger congregration a young man Called Ethan Little has stepped forward to offer his talents. Ethan was eleven years old in February 2017 when he first sat and had an attempt at mastering this difficult instrument.

He has been given a few pointers from a local organist Matthew Leedham and had a lesson from Mr Pickles. Ethan is working towards his grade 6 in piano practical and has grade 5 in music theory. He is now capable of playing for a full family service once a month and is studying very hard to improve his talent on our wonderful organ. Ethan says “I like playing services with more upbeat pace to ensure the congregation goes home feeling joyful”
