Superb Christmas Lunch

Almost 50 parishioners enjoyed a wonderful Christmas lunch in the church narthex today. Table decorations and Christmas crackers added to the festive spirit as people ate their meal and chatted to their friends. There was an added surprise when the Children’s Choir from Christ Church School came into church and sang Christmas Carols. The younger children from the school presented each parishioner with a Christmas Decoration which they had made and hand-made cards were distributed that had been made by the Brownies. A Wonderful Benefice Retreat

  Seventeen members of the Benefice descended on Parcevall Hall last Thursday for 48 hours of rest, recuperation, spiritual enrichment and fun!  The Hall is situated in the most beautiful grounds in the upper reaches of Wharfedale, not far from Burnsall.  Whilst it’s only about 45 minutes’ drive away from Foulridge, it felt more like being in a completely different world, so relaxing is the atmosphere there. 100th Birthday Celebration

A very special Luncheon Club was held at Christ Church this month as we celebrated Enid’s 100th birthday. We enjoyed a lovely meal and then sang a rousing rendition of ‘Happy Birthday’ as a magnificent cake was wheeled into the narthex. Enid was presented with a bouquet of flowers by the revd. Andy along with a birthday card signed by the many diners.

New Associate Priest for Benefice

On Sunday evening, 26th March 2023, David Hargreaves was licensed as an associate priest for the benefice, in a special service conducted by Bishop Philip at Christ Church. Representatives from the churches in the three parishes of Foulridge, Laneshawbridge and Trawden were in attendance as well as those from Barrowford and Colne where David had previously been a curate. The service had an atmosphere of joy and celebration as the congregation, clergy and choir enjoyed an animated sermon from Bishop Philip, witnessed David taking his oath and joined in with the uplifting hymns.
