It was a delight to have Millie baptised during our communion service on Sunday 18th August. We wish her God’s richest blessings on her journey through life.

Andrew, Clodia and their two children Hallie and Eden were baptised at Christ Church on Sunday 21st July during the service of Holy Communion. We welcome them into the family of the church and wish them every happiness for the future.

It was delightful to have Lyra baptised at Christ Church today during our All Age Worship Service.  She was welcomed into the family of the church by a packed congregation.  We  wish her every happiness on her journey through life.

  Seventeen members of the Benefice descended on Parcevall Hall last Thursday for 48 hours of rest, recuperation, spiritual enrichment and fun!  The Hall is situated in the most beautiful grounds in the upper reaches of Wharfedale, not far from Burnsall.  Whilst it’s only about 45 minutes’ drive away from Foulridge, it felt more like being in a completely different world, so relaxing is the atmosphere there. A very special Luncheon Club was held at Christ Church this month as we celebrated Enid’s 100th birthday. We enjoyed a lovely meal and then sang a rousing rendition of ‘Happy Birthday’ as a magnificent cake was wheeled into the narthex. Enid was presented with a bouquet of flowers by the revd. Andy along with a birthday card signed by the many diners.  

We welcomed Emily Rose into the family of the church on Sunday, 23rd April, when she was baptised. Here she is with her parents Katy and Andrew, her two brothers Harry and Oliver and with other family members. We hope that she will grow up knowing the love, protection and guidance of God.

On Sunday evening, 26th March 2023, David Hargreaves was licensed as an associate priest for the benefice, in a special service conducted by Bishop Philip at Christ Church. Representatives from the churches in the three parishes of Foulridge, Laneshawbridge and Trawden were in attendance as well as those from Barrowford and Colne where David had previously been a curate. The service had an atmosphere of joy and celebration as the congregation, clergy and choir enjoyed an animated sermon from Bishop Philip, witnessed David taking his oath and joined in with the uplifting hymns. Susan Tomlinson and Bob French were married on Saturday 11th February 2023 at St. Michael and All Angels Church in Foulridge. The guests enjoyed a lovely wedding ceremony, conducted by Rev. David Hargreaves. Following the ceremony the bride and groom helped deliver communion to the many guests. A hot and cold buffet was served in the church and there was even a pizza van outside which proved to be very popular. Susan and Bob are to honeymoon in Barcelona before returning to their church duties with the music group where they lead the All Age Family Worship in all three …

We are thrilled to welcome our new Parish Priest,  the Reverend Canon Andrew Froud.  He took up his post after his induction, by  the Archdeacon, on Monday evening at St. Michael and all Angels Church, Foulridge.  What a wonderful and uplifting service it was.  There was pre-service singing from the Christ Church music group, Fusion, whilst the numerous members of the congregation and local clergy arrived.  The service which followed was a celebration of this joyful event, with rousing hymns sung with gusto by the congregation, readings and prayers, a lively sermon from Bishop Philip, and the declaration and oaths …
