The monthly luncheon club, held on the 8th May was extra special as it was also V.E. Day. The porch and narthex of the church were decked out in red, white and blue with bunting and balloons. The luncheon club members held a two minutes silence outside by the war memorial in remembrance of the soldiers who did not come home. The children from the primary school came out into the school yard and also observed the silence. The club members then went inside and enjoyed a wonderful lunch and fellowship. The afternoon concluded with an enthusiastic sing-a-long to recorded war-time songs.
